Managed Hosting / Redmine Hosting / Redmine as a Jira alternative
Operated in a data centre in Germany (Bavaria)
Redmine is an open source project management tool licensed under GPLv2. We operate it for you, either in our cloud in Germany or on your own server. Moving away from a proprietary tool is therefore not a question of running a server yourself.
The data centre operator is certified to DIN ISO/IEC 27001. Processing is GDPR compliant, with a data processing agreement and without third country transfers. AlphaNodes GmbH is based in Gruenwald near Munich, and support is provided in German and English.
Four reasons to switch
Server location and data protection
Cloud in Germany or your own server. With InHouse operation, SSH access restricted to our IP is enough. The data does not leave your infrastructure.
Pricing independent of user count
Projects and users are unlimited in every package. Pricing depends on the feature set. Whether 50 or 500 people work in the system, the hosting costs the same.
Feature set without add-on purchases
Wiki, time tracking, forums, files and permission management are part of the Redmine standard. On top come the eight plugins of the AlphaNodes Core Stack, included in every hosting package.
No vendor lock-in
Redmine is licensed under GPLv2. The source code is open, the data belongs to you, and you can take over operation yourself or move to another provider at any time.
Costs and functions side by side
The page on the migration from Jira to Redmine puts Jira Cloud next to our Cloud Basic and Cloud Professional packages, including the cost at 50 and at 200 users, and lists what the hosting delivers in terms of functions.
See it before you decide
You can try everything in the demo beforehand, without registration and without installation. It runs Redmine 7 with our plugins. Which functions the plugins bring along is described in the plugin overview.
Included in the AlphaNodes Core Stack
These 8 plugins form the AlphaNodes Core Stack - included in all hosting packages, activate as needed
Automation & ServiceDesk included in all packages - own SMTP server required.
What managed operation covers

- Support. Through the customer area, Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, in German and English.

- Prices. Listed openly on the hosting page, no quote-only pricing for standard services.
Frequently asked questions
Can we migrate our data from the current system?
Yes. We support the assessment of your existing setup and the migration of the data into Redmine. How that works is described on the page about the migration from Jira to Redmine.
Where is our data stored?
In a data centre in Germany (Bavaria) whose operator is certified to DIN ISO/IEC 27001. Processing is GDPR compliant, with a data processing agreement and without third country transfers. Alternatively we operate Redmine on your own server.
What does it cost with many users?
The same as with few. Projects and users are unlimited in every package, and pricing depends on the feature set. You pay nothing extra for occasional users from other departments.
Are we locked in with AlphaNodes?
No. Redmine is licensed under GPLv2 and the data belongs to you. The contract has a one month minimum term and two weeks notice. You can take over operation yourself or move to another provider.
Which functions are included?
The full feature set of Redmine, plus the eight plugins of the AlphaNodes Core Stack: Automation, DB, DevOps, HRM, Passwords, Reporting, ServiceDesk and Wiki Guide. Further add-ons can be booked. An overview is available in the plugin overview.
Can we look at Redmine beforehand?
Yes. The demo is accessible without registration and runs Redmine 7 with our plugins. In addition, a test environment alongside the production environment can be booked.
