Booked hours are converted into amounts using stored hourly rates and compared against the budget. Billable and internal time stay separate.

An incoming email becomes an issue in the right project, with an owner and a history. Response and resolution times are measurable, including business hours and public holidays.

Absences are requested and approved instead of agreed by email. Whoever plans sees the availability without asking HR.

Work instructions get an approval workflow and a read confirmation. In an audit it is provable who reviewed a version and who took note of it.
